The benefits of telework (or whatever you choose to call
it) have never been more relevant.
Whether it is used as a business continuity tool in the
face of severe natural (or unnatural) disasters; whether it is part of
an effective transport reduction strategy reducing trips, congestion and
emissions; whether it is necessary to retain valuable staff; or whether
it is used to assist business maintain and increase profit in
challenging times; telework is an increasingly vital tool. And when
telecentres are also involved, the benefits are even greater.
Telework New Zealand (and its partners) is working on a
number of 'big picture' projects to spread the telework message to as
many people as possible throughout New Zealand, and beyond. These ideas
include (but are not limited to):
-
Developing a commercial portal selling virtual /
mobile / telework products and services across Australasia and into
Asia. This is something that neither
Telework Australia nor Telework New Zealand (the only players in
the market at the moment) can do effectively.
-
Developing and maintaining a version of the
Telework Australia web site specifically for New Zealand (or
other countries).
-
Establishing a 'Work from Home day'.
-
Working to gain the support of all relevant parts of
local and national government.
-
Creating a newsletter / magazine (in digital form)
for interested parties
-
Developing a more effective job broking service for
work at home employment
IF your organisation is
seeking to sell to the mobile / virtual work market ...
IF your organisation wants
to see flexible working increase ...
IF you agree that an
increase in telework and telecentre activities could help meet your
policy objectives ...
or IF your organisation just thinks telework is a
good idea ...
THEN email your logo to
bevis@telework.co.nz and we
will add it to this page at no charge.
Once we have a sufficient number of potential partners I
will convene an on-line meeting at which we can discuss a possible
programme of actions and/or projects.
